What makes me different than a nutritionist covered under your insurance?

This is a question I hear often:
"Why would I pay out-of-pocket to work with you when I can see a nutritionist through my insurance?"

And honestly? It’s a fair question. If you’re paying for insurance, of course you want to use it.

But if you're struggling with symptoms like fatigue, digestive issues, or stubborn health challenges that won’t budge no matter how many diets you try, then this is an important conversation to have.

Here’s the truth: the support you get through your insurance is often limited. And more importantly, it’s not usually built to help you heal at the root.

Let me explain why my approach is different—and why it may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

1. I don’t manage symptoms. I help you heal them.

Yes, there are skilled, kind nutritionists who take insurance. But the majority of them are trained in conventional models of care, which means they’re focused on managing symptoms, not resolving them.

That means you might get advice like:

  • “Cut out gluten and dairy”

  • “Try a low FODMAP diet”

  • “Track your calories and fiber”

But here’s the problem: that kind of advice is like putting a band-aid on a broken pipe.

Let’s say you’re dealing with chronic diarrhea. A traditional nutritionist may recommend eliminating certain foods. But they probably won’t ask why your body is reacting this way in the first place.

With a root-cause approach, we dig deeper. I look at what’s actually happening inside your body.

Is it poor bile flow? Bacterial overgrowth? Low stomach acid? A sluggish liver? These are the real issues that need to be addressed if you want lasting relief.

Once we identify the “why,” we can start supporting the right systems using targeted foods, gentle supplements, and lifestyle strategies to help your body function the way it’s meant to.

2. You get real support. not 15 minutes and a handout.

If you’ve ever worked with an insurance-based provider, you’ve probably experienced the typical model.

Short visits, long gaps between appointments, and very little follow-up.

That’s not how I work.

With me, you get:

  • Biweekly sessions for consistent support and momentum

  • Text access between calls, so you're not alone on the hard days

  • A partnership that keeps you accountable and moving forward even when life gets messy

This kind of support is a game-changer.

Because when you're trying to change how you feel in your body, you need more than information. You need someone in your corner who knows your story, listens, and helps you stay on track.

3. I treat you like a whole person—not a diagnosis.

A conventional nutritionist might focus just on your food. And that’s important!

But true healing takes more than just meal plans.

In my program, we go deeper. We look at all the pillars that affect your energy, digestion, and overall well-being:

  • Hydration

  • Sleep

  • Stress and nervous system regulation

  • Movement that feels doable

  • And most importantly—your mindset

Because let’s be honest: it’s not always the food that trips you up.

It’s the stress. The all-or-nothing thinking. The guilt. The feeling that you’ve “tried everything” and nothing sticks. The lack of belief in yourself. The feelings of what other people will think.

All of these impact your ability to succeed and reach your goals, which is why I address it in my program and give you tools to help you shift those thoughts and beliefs.

We work through those roadblocks together—so your results don’t disappear the next time life gets busy.

So, is using your insurance wrong? Absolutely not.

But if you’re looking for a deeper, more personalized, and results-driven experience—one that actually helps you feel better instead of just managing symptoms—then working with me may be the better path.

You’ve already spent enough time guessing and Googling.

You’ve spent time on things that don’t work.

You deserve support that actually helps you heal.
